Yoga classes in a park
When the weather is happy, we often host classes outdoors at different parks around the city. These include the Nieuwe Kerkhof, the Martinikerkhof, the Stadspark, and more. In the spring and summer, we announce our outdoor classes on a weekly basis, so keep an eye out on our announcements page, or subscribe to our updates.
For outdoor classes, please bring a yoga mat, towel or blanket if you do not want to practice on the grass. Feel free to also bring water, tea or other drinks and snacks as we often spend some time relaxing and chatting after class. These classes are for everyone, no previous yoga experience is necessary (but please let us know if you have any injuries). Our outdoor classes are always open to all people free of charge.
Weekly yoga classes in the gym at Metaallaan 255
In addition to outdoor classes, we also host weekly classes on Tuesdays at 20:15 (for approx. 1 hour) in the Magma gym at Metaallaan 255 (9743PK). These classes are beginner-focused, yet all levels of yogi are welcome to join in. The style of yoga ranges from Hatha to Ashtanga to Vinyasa to Kundalini to Yin, depending on the teacher. The gym has padded floors, so a yoga mat is not essential, but please bring one if you have one. There are also changing rooms and bathrooms. We ask kindly that you remove your shoes before stepping onto the padded floor.
We have partnered with Slimleven Vinkhuizen to make these indoor classes possible. If you would like to attend our Tuesday classes regularly, we ask for a monthly fee of €5 (free for stadjerspass and students). With this contribution, you can also attend all of Slimleven’s other weekly activities, such as meditation classes, bootcamps and walking groups.
Newcomers are invited to join free of charge to try it out before signing up. If the monthly contribution is a barrier for you, please talk to a member of the team. First and foremost, we do not want to exclude anyone for financial reasons!
Monthly yoga workshops in the gym at Metaallaan 255
We invite you to deepen your practice with our monthly yoga workshops in the Magma gym at Metaallaan 255 (9743PK). These are longer sessions (90 minutes to 2 hours) that focus on technique and alignment in asanas, as well as creating a deeper connection to the breath and the body. These workshops are usually led by Christa, and draw on Iyengar and Ashtanga teachings. They are perfect for yogis who have already attended several of our beginner classes (see above) and are looking to expand their knowledge and skills.
The focus of the workshops is different each month. We schedule these workshops in the afternoon of the last Sunday of the month. Please see our announcements page for more information.
